Hello, my name is Mike Doyle and I’m am a member of the Board of Finance. I am a passionate husband, father, soccer coach, volunteer, and geek with over 25 years of small and midsize business leadership experience. Further, I served as chairman of the Town Technology Task Force. For 7 years I served on the Zoning Commission, which was a challenging and rewarding opportunity to help shape the future of Simsbury for generations to come.
I am proud of our town and cannot imagine living anywhere else. My wife Laura and I moved to Simsbury in 1997 for the same reasons that still make Simsbury a great place for families today: our premier education system, low crime rate, excellent town services, and recreational activities. With this in mind, I will do everything I can to protect and elevate our town.
I’m fortunate to have a very supportive family, as they inspire me to serve and be involved in many great organizations, such as:
Board Of Finance – Member
Simsbury Town Technology Task Force – Member – Former Chairman
Zoning Commission – Former Member
Simsbury Aquifer Protection Agency – Former Member
Saint Catherine of Siena – Lector and Technology Volunteer
Simsbury Performing Arts Center – Board member, Technology Volunteer, and former Treasurer
Simsbury Soccer Club – Coach and Board Member
Boy Scout Troop 174 – Merit Badge counselor, Eagle Mentor and proud Eagle Scout parent
Simsbury Granby Rotary Club – Member and former Treasurer
Community Farm of Simsbury – Volunteer
Simsbury Republicans – Web Guru
Simsbury needs prudent fiscal policies to maintain the excellent quality of life we all enjoy. I support local business as they create opportunities that attract and keep families in our charming town. I will carefully consider every dollar in the budget and make the difficult decisions that are in the best interest of Simsbury.
For guidance I look to the Bible verse from the book of John 13:34, which is “Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another,” along with The Rotary International’s motto of “Service Above Self.”
Thank you for your time to read this.
