Kevin is running for First Selectman of the Town of Simsbury because he believes that it’s important to put aside differences and Put Simsbury First. He is an experienced nonprofit executive with a commitment to public service and business development. He has been a long believer that there doesn’t have to be a difference in doing “good” and doing “well,” which has been the foundation of his work in nonprofit leadership that is both financially sustainable and civically-minded.
Kevin has been a local elected official in his previous home of Northfield, Vermont, elected as a Village Trustee which managed local utilities and also on the Town Board of Selectmen managing the town budget. In that time he was part of a successful effort that merged two municipalities to better serve its residents, and, with his fellow board members, found ways to reduce spending by nearly 10% in all departments with minimal impact on town services. He led a successful recruitment effort as chair of a hiring committee to bring aboard a new town manager, who continues to serve in that capacity today. Kevin currently serves on the Board of Simsbury Community Media, formerly Simsbury Community TV. He was appointed by the Vermont governor to the Governor’s Committee on the Employment of People with Disabilities.
Kevin holds a graduate and undergraduate degree, both from Norwich University, the
Military College of Vermont. He owns a home in the north end of Simsbury with his wife, Kate, a graduate of the Simsbury public school system and the same school their two daughters currently attend.
