My name is Josh Falco and I have lived in Simsbury for 15 years. My wife, Rachel, and I moved to Tariffville in 2008 and have truly loved our time in town. Both of our children Nathan, 12, and Hazel, 8, have lived here their whole lives attending the wonderful Tariffville elementary school. From a personal perspective, I grew up and in East Hartford for the first 25+ years of my life then briefly had an apartment in Manchester before Rachel and I became first time home buyers in Tariffville in 2008. I work at Lincoln Financial Group in Hartford, where I have been for 20 years, having started there while in Graduate School at Central Connecticut State University. I am a big sports fan and enjoy playing, coaching and watching sports, with the greatest joy being watching our children play.

When asked why I am running for the Board of Education in Simsbury this year, the answer comes down to feeling like it is a good time for me to give back to a community that has treated my family and I so well for the past 15 years. This town provides so many great opportunities for families to enjoy fun activities in a beautiful setting, engage with quality sports teams and excellent families, and most importantly receive a wonderful education. When we were looking for towns to move to, the Simsbury education ratings played a very large role in our decision. Then when the potential arose for Tariffville elementary school to be closed that moved me to step up and become the Tariffville Parent Rep for that initiative because the thought of losing the good thing we had was not something I was willing to give up. A few years later, here I am wanting to make sure for all of Simsbury that this really great thing we have, our education system, stays here long term and I look forward to the opportunity to do my part as best I can.

I would like to close by saying that this is a great town and we love living here. There are many amazing town leaders and board of education members, past and present, who have done so much to get us to where we are, which is a destination location for families in Connecticut. I look forward to continuing on the tradition of people giving back to this community and working hard to make it the best it can be. I appreciate your support and look forward to working with and meeting more of you, as a member of the Simsbury Board of Education.
