Simsbury is a special place. It’s beautiful natural setting, small-town charm, great schools, and exceptional quality of life are truly unique; this is why my wife Lucinda and I first moved here in 1993, raised our two children here, and continue to love this town that we call home.
I believe in the importance of getting involved and giving back to our community and have been active in town for many years. In 2004 as my kids began to get involved in youth sports, I volunteered as team manager or assistant coach, and stayed involved throughout their youth sports careers. In 2006, I was appointed as an Alternate on Simsbury’s Zoning Board of Appeals. In 2011, I was elected to serve as regular member of the ZBA and I continued on that Board through 2015. In 2016, I was appointed as a regular member on the Conservation Commission & Inland Wetlands Agency, and in 2017 I was elected to serve as a regular member of our Planning Commission. In 2021 I was appointed to fill a vacant seat as an alternate on the Simsbury Planning Commission.
During the past few years as a Planning Commissioner, I have worked with the other commissioners to address many important issues like refining our Plan of Conservation & Development, planning for Affordable Housing in town and revising the Subdivision Regulations.
I bring 35+ years of professional experience in consulting, operations, relationship management and business development, and 15+ years of experience on Simsbury land use boards and commissions to the table. This background and my innate objectivity give me the experience and skill to listen and communicate effectively, balance many viewpoints, ask thoughtful questions and analyze and resolve complex challenges.
On the Planning Commission, I will continue work to promote sound decision-making that assures both the individual rights of our citizens, and the long-term needs of our community are considered. I will focus on balancing the dual imperatives of economic growth and maintaining the quality of life in Simsbury, while protecting the interests of its neighborhoods.
I ask that you please consider voting for me, and I thank you for your continued support.
